No recurrence of bladder tumor

The recurrence rate of bladder tumors is high, even as high as 50 to 60%, according to traditional textbooks and a large body of specialized literature. Therefore, it is customary for us to talk to patients about the possibility and dangers of recurrence during the pre-surgery conversation. I have seen many patients who had tumor recurrence before and came back for treatment, but now I have to talk about my experience and feel strange that I have not seen a single case of recurrence in nearly 30 bladder tumor patients treated since I returned to China in 2008. Then, thinking about the reasons for the significant improvement of such treatment effect, I think there are two most likely reasons, one is the selection of surgical modality and implementation of surgical operation in strict accordance with the relevant clinical guidelines, and the second is the implementation of the regular drug infusion program. I feel that these are closely related to my own surgical experience and tumor theory training.
