A pemphigus is a sebaceous cyst, which should not be squeezed if it has become infected and suppurated. Squeezing by hand is a very inappropriate way to handle the cyst, which can lead to rupture of the cyst wall and more serious infection, and the sebaceous secretions can be partially absorbed by the dermis, causing adhesions to the skin. If a sebaceous cyst becomes purulent, it is recommended to take oral anti-inflammatory drugs, such as cefuroxime and amoxicillin, and apply topical ointments, such as polymyxin B ointment or fusidic acid ointment, etc. It can also be treated locally by means of hot compresses and physiotherapy. Surgery is recommended as soon as the inflammation subsides to prevent future recurrence.
