What medication to take for abortion

Medication abortion is a type of abortion and is suitable for pregnant women up to 7 weeks of gestation and up to 40 years of age. Currently, the main abortion medication is mifepristone combined with misoprostol. Mifepristone needs to be taken first, either in a single dose or in divided doses over 3 days, with at least 1 hour of fasting before and after each dose. Both methods involve taking misoprostol orally on the morning of day 3, with a 1-hour fast before and after each dose. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea will occur after taking misoprostol. Most of the time, the gestational sac can be expelled 6 hours after taking the drug, and some patients can expel the gestational sac within 12 hours. If the sac is not expelled for more than 24 hours or not completely expelled, the abortion will fail and a curettage will be required. After the sac is expelled, an ultrasound examination should be performed and the sac should be brought to the doctor to determine if the pregnancy tissue is completely expelled to avoid residual tissue in the uterus, which may make it difficult to repair the endometrium or even cause secondary infection. Vaginal bleeding usually occurs to varying degrees after the expulsion of the pregnancy capsule, and the bleeding clears in 3-5 days or 7-10 days, mostly without any major impact on the body. In some women, vaginal bleeding can last for 2-3 weeks or even 1-2 months after a medical abortion. If the vaginal bleeding lasts for more than 2 weeks, the bleeding is heavy, or is accompanied by lower abdominal pain, fever, cloudy and smelly leucorrhea, etc., you should go to the hospital to find out the cause and perform an ablation if necessary. The abortion is not 100% safe and not suitable for all people, there are corresponding indications for the use of drugs, pregnant women must go to the hospital to evaluate the drugs before using them, under the guidance of doctors, do not use drugs at home without permission. Abortion has certain risks, such as anemia, infection, menstrual disorders, and in serious cases, infertility, etc. Therefore, careful consideration is needed before abortion.
