Is the reappearance of warts after three years a recurrence?

Most cases of symptoms after three years of acromegaly are not recurrence, but HPV reinfection. Warts are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, a sexually transmitted disease that can be contracted through direct and indirect contact. Recurrence occurs most often in the first three months after treatment and is usually followed up to 6-9 months after the last treatment. Reappearance after three years is generally low in likelihood of recurrence and is mostly a reinfection. Immunocompromised people such as patients with renal transplantation, malignancy, diabetes mellitus, AIDS, immunosuppressive chemotherapy and application of glucocorticoids have a higher risk of recurrence even after successful treatment and clearance of the lesions, and the follow-up period needs to be prolonged. It is recommended that those with high-risk behaviors as well as those with symptoms should actively seek medical attention for standardized treatment.
