Do you need to treat old tuberculosis?

Obsolete TB with a previous history of active TB and which has been treated according to the TB norms does not require treatment; however, obsolete TB that has not been treated according to the TB norms requires treatment with reference to the TB norms.
However, in elderly patients, those who are immunocompromised, or those with other co-morbidities of the lungs, regular review of chest imaging changes and vigilance for reignition of residual TB bacteria in old lesions are required.
