Why do you get plantar warts?

Plantar warts are common warts caused by human papillomavirus infection and are most commonly found on the feet.
There are more than 200 different subtypes of human papillomavirus, and the main types of plantar warts are types 1, 2 and 4. This virus can colonize the surface of the skin at room temperature. When the skin is cracked or partially broken, the virus can invade the skin and cause localized viral reproduction, and you can get plantar warts.
If the localized lesion is scratched with the hands, it can lead to ulceration, which may cause other healthy skin infections and warts. In addition, direct contact with the patient’s skin lesions may lead to infection. Contamination of towels, washcloths, and clothing by the patient may lead to infection.
When plantar warts appear, patients are advised to seek medical attention for laser or cryotherapy to prevent the spread of infection.
