What to do if you have a toothache while breastfeeding

  If the toothache during breastfeeding is caused by inflammation of the dental nerve, dental treatment can be carried out, and if it is caused by gingivitis, dental scaling and medication can also be carried out to relieve the pain.  The common cause of toothache during breastfeeding is tooth decay, the loss of calcium during pregnancy or breastfeeding, tooth demineralization is prone to decay, bacterial infection of the dental nerve causes pulpitis, painful eating or severe pain at night, root canal treatment is needed to relieve. If the tooth nerve is inflamed, it needs to be anti-inflammatory after killing the nerve, and then a tight root canal filling. Care should be taken not to use medications that can affect the baby while breastfeeding. If dental treatment is not available for a toothache during breastfeeding, mouthwash can be used to relieve the pain. You can use light salt water for rinsing and wait until the end of the breastfeeding period for immediate dental treatment.  If the pain is caused by gingivitis and you have not brushed your teeth in time after eating, the gums can be red, swollen, painful and bleeding due to the accumulation of food debris around the teeth.  Therefore, a toothache during breastfeeding can be treated with root canal therapy or mouthwash to relieve the pain, or a scaling and medication can be performed to improve the symptoms.
