How long does it take to fill a tooth

The filling time depends on the degree of tooth decay and the difficulty of filling the tooth, generally it takes about half an hour to fill a tooth, if it is a particularly complicated cavity, it may take an hour. If it is a filling treatment for the front teeth, especially for those with strict aesthetic requirements, it may take longer. Filling is a common method to treat tooth decay, which is a disease of the hard tissues of the teeth and is caused by bacteria acting on the teeth and destroying them. Tooth decayed teeth should be filled in time, so that the decay can be controlled and will not develop further and form more serious consequences. If tooth decay is not treated in time, it will destroy the pulp tissue and form pulpitis or periapical inflammation. Once you get pulpitis or periapicalitis, you have to have root canal treatment first and then fillings. Such tooth root canal treatment plus fillings may take longer time and two to three follow-up visits are needed. So for the early decay of the tooth, you must pay attention to it and try to control it in a very small area of decay so that it will not continue to destroy the tooth. The time of filling depends on the scope of caries, shallow caries and medium caries are relatively short, deep caries is relatively longer. If the caries destroys the nerve and root canal treatment is done, then the whole series of treatment may take two to three weeks. Therefore, early diagnosis and early treatment should be done for dental caries.
