I remember the famous urologist Wu Jieping, the former Minister of Health, had a famous saying: health is not everything, but without health there is nothing. Between the lines, we can see how important health is. At present, people’s standard of living is improving at the same time they pay more attention to whether their bodies are in a healthy state or subhealthy state or pathological state. So health checkups have come into being, and most of the so-called healthy people are going into hospitals or professional medical checkups to have a professional health checkup. When it comes to checkups, people naturally think of a series of familiar checkups such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and electrocardiograms, etc. So how important are these checkups and whether they can become the protector of the healthy people will be tested by time, so let’s not discuss them. What I want to discuss with you is who is more important among these tests? Through the recent years of medical examination data I made the following summary in order to remind everyone to pay attention to the selection of the examination program to really do no disease prevention disease treatment. In 2005, nearly 1,000 people were found to have kidney tumors in the ultrasound examination of the network of 2 people, aged about 45 years old and both male, the most typical feature of both without any symptoms, the two went to the 301 Hospital in time for surgery to confirm the kidney cancer. Ultrasound examination played a decisive role in the development of tumor in only 2/1000 people and also won them surgery time for early treatment. In our ultrasound examination process, there is almost this characteristic: the most common cysts found in the elderly are liver and kidney cysts, with kidney cysts being the most common. In middle age, fatty liver predominates, most of them are above moderate. In women, uterine fibroids and adnexal cysts are predominant. Although we did not go into precise statistics, this at least indicates a phenomenon. Here I would like to talk about renal cysts in the elderly that must be reviewed because cystic cancer is not uncommon nowadays, and data show that it can account for 10% of cases, so regular ultrasound is very important. The second thing I would like to talk about is fatty liver. According to online information, this disease is not receiving enough attention, but it is on the rise year by year, and its manifestations are colorful and varied. There are focal and non-uniform cases, but diffuse ones are the most common. The fatty liver can lead to liver function damage and even clinical pain in the liver area to some extent. Furthermore, ultrasound is the most acceptable test for adults as it has no side effects and is non-invasive. I dare say that people can go without medication in their life but it is impossible not to do ultrasound, in the past we clinical surgeons only want to operate and now the first thought of ultrasound which also reflects the importance of preoperative ultrasound examination. I would like to say here is to take a little time to do health checkups, take care of your own body is responsible for yourself, health is their greatest wealth, only this hope to encourage with everyone.
