(1) General treatment: In the acute stage, the child should rest in bed and be encouraged to drink more water to increase the amount of urination, and girls should also pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva. Encourage the child to eat, supply enough calories, rich protein and vitamins, and deal with constipation. Children with high fever, headache and back pain should be given antipyretic and analgesic agents to relieve symptoms. For obvious symptoms of urinary tract irritation, anti-cholinergic drugs such as scopolamine or oral sodium bicarbonate should be used to alkalize the urine. (2) Selecting sensitive antibiotics according to different sites and drug sensitivity should follow the characteristics of pediatric medication. It is best to keep a urine specimen for bacteriological examination before applying antibacterial drugs. If there is no drug sensitivity test result, cephalosporins of second generation or higher and their potentiating stabilizers, ampicillin/rod acid, amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate are recommended for upper urinary tract infection or acute pyelonephritis.
