Spitting up, overflowing milk mothers are confused

What is milk spillage? If your baby is placed flat on the bed immediately after feeding, milk will flow out from the corners of the mouth and even spit up all the milk you have just eaten. However, if you hold your baby upright for a while after feeding and then put him in bed, the amount of milk spit up will be significantly reduced, and this kind of spitting up is medically called overflow. The difference between spitting up and overflowing milk: Spitting up and overflowing milk both refer to the phenomenon of milk coming out of the baby’s mouth. Spitting up is when the food in the stomach is emptied forcefully and in large amounts; overflow is when the contents of the esophagus or stomach are involuntarily flowed backwards to the outside of the mouth, which may just be a burp that causes a small amount of milk to spill out from the corner of the mouth. Generally speaking, there is no big difference between mild spitting up and milk spillage, and there is no need to take special treatment. Sometimes your baby may have a cold or illness that may cause more severe spitting up than usual. However, as your baby grows up, this situation will improve significantly. What should I do if my baby spills milk? Infant milk spillage is a normal physiological phenomenon and does not require special treatment. To reduce overflow, you should pay attention not to feed your baby immediately after crying, because crying can swallow air, which is the direct cause of overflow, and not to let your baby suck on an empty bottle, and not to coax your baby by sucking on a bottle. After feeding, pick up the baby gently, let him lie on the adult’s shoulder and pat his back. If he can burp, he can prevent milk spillage. After feeding, you should place the baby in a suitable position according to the rules you have learned. At first, you can try the right lateral position to see if the baby spits up, and if not, you can adopt this position in the future. Is spitting up worse than spillage? Infant vomiting is mostly caused by improper feeding. If the baby is not fed regularly, sometimes he eats too much and sometimes he does not eat enough, so that the stomach movement lacks regularity; if he cries before and after feeding, the nipple eye is too big, he will suck in a lot of air when he eats milk, and when the air overflows from the stomach, he will bring out the milk and cause vomiting. Therefore, the child vomits first in the feeding method to find the cause, if the problem is found, timely correction after the child does not vomit, it means that vomiting is caused by improper feeding. The most common abnormality is gastric torsion, which is when the stomach “pocket” is turned over, bottom up and mouth down. The treatment is very simple, is to feed the child not to lie down to eat, let him take the standing position, so that after a period of time, can make the twisted stomach gradually return to normal position, the vomiting will stop. For babies with healthy appearance, too frequent breastfeeding, too much breastfeeding, improper milk formula change or concentration, too fast and too urgent feeding, improper milk temperature, swallowing too much air, etc. may lead to vomiting. If the infant is vomiting severely or has other abnormalities at the same time, disease should be considered as a possibility. Vomiting in babies may be related to infections, intestinal diseases, etc.
