Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following symptoms.
Sudden and severe onset of pain especially after a fall in the elderly, prolonged symptoms that do not resolve with rest and inability to bear weight on the affected side.
The pain is accompanied by a numbness or burning sensation in the skin.
Pain with muscle weakness, leg weakness or foot weakness.
Pain with high fever.
Pain with bleeding, swelling and petechiae in the hip.
Multiple other joint symptoms throughout the body in addition to femoral head pain.
