For early-stage carcinoid tumours that have not metastasised, they can usually be cured with surgical excision, but for mid- to late-stage carcinoid tumours that have metastasised, they require surgical excision combined with a comprehensive anti-tumour regimen of radiotherapy, hepatic artery ligation or embolisation to achieve a certain level of efficacy.
