Treatment of sebaceous cysts is primarily surgical, with antibiotics given in case of infection. The key to the radical treatment of sebaceous cysts is the removal of the cyst. The surgical procedure is cystectomy, which can be performed according to the patient’s wishes using a reasonable surgical treatment plan that is as aesthetically pleasing as possible. When infection occurs, antibiotics are needed to inhibit or kill bacteria, and common drugs include cefuroxime sodium, penicillin and amoxicillin. Adverse reactions such as allergic reactions, leukopenia, interstitial nephritis, asthma attacks and, in severe cases, anaphylactic shock may occur after use. It is contraindicated in those who are allergic to penicillins or procaine. Patients with sebaceous cysts are advised to visit the hospital for prompt treatment.
