Pulmonary alveoli do not usually cause chest pain. Chest pain may occur only when there is a complication of the alveolus. The clinical symptoms of alveoli vary in severity. For small alveoli, there may be no obvious clinical symptoms, and they usually do not cause chest pain. For multiple alveoli or huge alveoli, some patients may have localized chest pain. Their lung function is affected to a certain extent, and patients may also experience symptoms such as chest tightness and shortness of breath after activities. Patients are advised to be aware that some alveoli, especially large alveoli, may rupture to form a pneumothorax, at which time patients may experience chest pain on the affected side. For patients with large pulmonary alveoli, when chest pain accompanied by chest tightness or dyspnea occurs, chest X-ray or CT examination should be repeated in time, except whether there are complications of pneumothorax formation.
