Basal cell carcinoma is one of the most common types of skin cancer, also known as basal cell epithelioma, basal-like cell tumor erosive ulcer, etc. It is an epithelial low-grade malignant tumor originating from the basal cells of the epidermis or the outer root sheath of the hair follicle. Basal cell carcinoma mostly occurs after 30 years of age, with a peak at 60-70 years of age. It occurs in exposed areas such as head and face, especially in the nasal eyelids and cheeks. The basic damage is pinhead to green bean sized hemispherical wax-like or translucent nodules. Histopathological examination is desirable to further confirm the diagnosis. Treatment is mainly by surgical enlargement of the nodule, usually by more than 1 cm, or by laser therapy. The prognosis is generally good.
