Can jaundice be cured?

The prognosis for jaundiced hepatitis varies greatly between causes.
Most acute jaundiced hepatitis due to hepatitis viruses is curable, and hepatitis such as alcoholic hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver, and drug-induced liver injury can be cured with treatment.
Some forms of jaundice, such as autoimmune hepatitis, can be effectively controlled with treatment, but cannot be cured.
Some other forms of hepatitis that persist or have severe liver damage can progress to cirrhosis and liver cancer, which cannot be cured and have a poor prognosis.
