What is ringing in the ears and is it a red light for health?

Tinnitus is one of the more common symptoms in otolaryngology. The ear is divided into the outer ear, middle ear and inner ear, and tinnitus can occur in all of these areas. Tinnitus in the outer ear can be caused by cerumen embolism or foreign bodies; in the middle ear, tinnitus can sometimes be caused by diseases such as secretory otitis media; in the inner ear, tinnitus is the most common part of the ear, mainly due to poor microcirculation in the inner ear and sudden deafness. Once tinnitus occurs, patients are advised to consult the ENT department for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible, especially for tinnitus caused by the inner ear, which needs to be seen and treated as soon as possible, otherwise, if the best time for treatment is missed, irreversible changes can be caused, resulting in lifelong regrets.
