Does Alzheimer’s disease dementia heal?

Alzheimer’s disease dementia cannot be cured. Early on, Alzheimer’s disease presents with symptoms such as a decline in near memory, and as the disease progresses, a decline in distant memory also occurs. Then, as the disease progresses, there is a decline in the ability to perform daily living activities. As the disease worsens further, it becomes irreversible if it reaches the level of dementia. However, Alzheimer’s disease can be treated. Commonly used medications, such as donepezil, can slow down the progression of the disease in patients, but they do not cure Alzheimer’s disease. Therefore, when Alzheimer’s disease appears, in addition to oral medication, patients should be allowed to have more contact and communication with family members, relatives, friends or peers, and try to go out and take patients to communicate with others. If the patient is kept at home and does not communicate with family and society, the disease progresses more quickly. After the symptoms of dementia appear in Alzheimer’s disease, medication is available. Although medication cannot cure the disease, it can relieve the patient’s symptoms, and active treatment is still required.
