Esophageal cancer (esophageal cancer) therapeutic drugs mainly include targeted drugs such as EGFR monoclonal antibody drugs and chemotherapeutic drugs such as cisplatin and paclitaxel.
1. Targeted therapeutic drugs: commonly used EGFR monoclonal antibody drugs, such as cetuximab and panitumumumab, etc. Through small molecule drugs, they can precisely aim at and hit the target center of cancer cells, so as to play the role of eliminating cancer cells. They are used in the second-line and later treatments of metastatic esophageal cancer, and are not included in routine recommendations.
2. Chemotherapeutic drugs: such as commonly used cisplatin and paclitaxel, etc., which can attack cancer cells in the whole body of patients through this kind of chemical drugs, and can be used to prevent as well as treat systemic metastasis of esophageal cancer. However, bone marrow suppression, gastrointestinal adverse reaction, liver and kidney function damage are easy to occur after chemotherapy.
For patients with esophageal cancer, in addition to the above medications, endoscopic resection can be performed at early stage for radical treatment, while for patients in middle and late stages, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, surgery and other methods can be used to slow down the disease and improve the patients’ symptoms.
Once esophageal cancer occurs, it is necessary to go to the hospital for consultation in time, and appropriate methods of treatment can be adopted under the guidance of doctors.
