The brainstem is the center of life, and brainstem hemorrhage has an acute onset and rapid progression. The severity of the disease and prognosis are closely related to the amount of bleeding and the specific location of the bleeding.
The mortality rate is high when the bleeding volume is >5 ml; patients with bleeding volume <5 ml have milder clinical symptoms and fewer complications, and the mortality rate is lower.
In the case of small focal hemorrhage on one side of the primary midbrain, the symptoms present are generally milder and the prognosis is relatively good.
