Jaundice sunbathing time

Jaundice that can be relieved by sunlight usually refers to physiological jaundice in newborns, and the time of exposure is usually chosen at around 10 am, and the length of exposure can be as long as possible depending on the home environment. Usually, jaundice in full-term newborns appears 2-3 days after birth, peaks in 4-6 days, and subsides in 1-2 weeks, and lasts longer in preterm infants. Parents are advised to choose a time when the sun is not strong, such as 8-10 am and after 16:00 pm. If the ambient temperature is suitable, the sunbathing time can be as long as possible, which is more effective. Parents should undress the child, cover the vulva with a diaper and the eyes with a black cloth, and place the child in a well-lit place for sunbathing. However, when irradiating, parents should pay attention to the appropriate temperature of the environment, observe the general condition of the newborn, and pause if the baby is uncomfortable.
