Children’s face bruises are generally recovered in a few days

The recovery time for bruises on a child’s face is related to the area of the bruise, the degree of force and other factors, and cannot be generalized. If the bruise is caused by bleeding under the skin or in the muscle, it can usually fade on its own in about 1 week if the force on the child’s face and the area of the bruise are small. If the force and area of the bruise are large, it may take about 2 weeks for the bruise to fade. If there is no skin breakage, cold compress can be applied in the early stage to stop bleeding, reduce swelling, pain and bruise area; after 48 hours, hot towel can be applied for 15 minutes each time, 2-3 times a day to promote local blood circulation and eliminate bruise and edema. However, if the child has a large bruise with increased skin temperature and obvious pain, it often indicates the possibility of local hematoma, and should be seen in pediatric surgery for timely treatment.
