Patients often have a flashing sensation in front of their eyes, and their eyes may be cloudy. These may be caused by retinal fissures due to the pulling of the vitreous and abnormal firing of retinal cells. 3. Other symptoms can also be manifested as bright red blood clots within the vitreous or brownish yellow old blood clots that can be seen under the slit lamp. The examiner can see dusty, streaky or blocky cloudy floaters, or a very faint red light can be faintly seen, or in some cases, even no red light reflection. In patients with recurrent vitreous hemorrhage, proliferative streaks or proliferative membranes with neovascularization may be seen intravitreally.
