What’s wrong with red, itchy, sore eyes?

Red, itchy and painful eyes, a condition that is mostly localized inflammation, are the most common causes of the following three diseases: first, conjunctivitis; second, keratitis; and third, uveitis. The treatment options for these three diseases are slightly different. Conjunctivitis is a local inflammation caused by bacterial or allergic factors, which generally manifests as photophobia, tearing, increased eye discharge, and itchy eyes, etc. It requires symptomatic treatment according to the specific cause, including anti-infective treatment if caused by bacterial infection and anti-allergic treatment if caused by allergy. Keratitis is a local inflammation caused by bacterial and viral infections, which manifests as obvious eye irritation symptoms, such as photophobia, tearing, eye pain, and a little abnormal discharge, etc. This disease can have a serious impact on vision, so it requires active treatment and symptomatic treatment, such as antibacterial or antiviral treatment, depending on the specific cause. Uveitis is an aseptic inflammation in the eye, and the treatment plan usually includes pupil dilatation and glucocorticoids, and the commonly used drugs are compound tropicamide eye drops and tobramycin dexamethasone eye drops.
