In general, oral acromegaly can be referred to a stomatologist. Often it is difficult to distinguish from warts with the naked eye due to the elevated tongue papillae of the oral mucosa and small bumps on the tongue tie; of course, if the patient’s symptoms are typical, a dermatologist can make the diagnosis; however, oral surgeons are more experienced than dermatologists in recognizing foreign objects in the oral cavity, and therefore, if the patient develops an oral acne, the oral surgeon can make the diagnosis and treatment very well. Oral surgeons are also more specialized than dermatologists in performing PCR amplification or taking pathology samples from the oral cavity if necessary. It is recommended that patients who develop oral warts should seek medical attention in a timely manner and undergo relevant examinations and treatments under the guidance of a medical professional.
