How long does absorbable thread take to absorb

The absorption time of absorbable threads varies according to the type of thread and the absorption ability of the patient’s body, so it is not possible to make a generalization. Absorbable threads can be roughly divided into three types: the first type is ordinary absorbable threads, which are used for suturing intestinal tissues and ligating blood vessels to stop bleeding, and the absorption time takes about 6 months on average. The second type is vascular absorbable thread, which is mostly used for vascular anastomosis, with an absorption time of about 2-3 months. The third type is cosmetic protein suture, which takes less time to absorb, about 1-2 months. In addition, patients of different ages and physiques have different absorption capacity, so the absorption time can also be different. In the process of organism repair, patients should maintain a regular work and rest schedule, a light diet, and enhance resistance in order to promote physical recovery and make the sutures absorb as soon as possible.
