For pregnant women with a transverse fetal position, termination of pregnancy by cesarean section is usually recommended at 39 weeks of gestation. The normal fetal position is cephalic, but if the fetus is in an abnormal position, such as transverse or breech, the pregnancy cannot usually be delivered vaginally and needs to be terminated by cesarean section. Studies have concluded that most fetuses at 39 weeks are mature and in a relatively stable state, with good viability and development of all systems, and are less likely to be born with various neonatal diseases than fetuses born by cesarean section earlier. Therefore, in the absence of pregnancy complications or the need for early termination of pregnancy, the pregnancy can be terminated at 39 weeks of gestation in case of transverse fetal position. In addition, the fetus in transverse position must be alert to cord prolapse. If premature rupture of membranes occurs, lie flat and seek medical attention as soon as possible to avoid intrauterine hypoxia of the fetus due to cord prolapse. After cesarean section, pay attention to the incision and if there is no obvious discomfort, it is recommended to get out of bed early to prevent intra-abdominal tissue adhesions and intestinal obstruction and thrombosis.
