OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical value of ultrasound diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory disease. METHODS: The ultrasound image characteristics of 228 cases of pelvic inflammatory disease confirmed by inpatient treatment were retrospectively analyzed. RESULTS: 1. The confirmation rate of ultrasound examination was 76.32%. 2. The extent and degree of pelvic inflammatory disease can be estimated by ultrasound examination, which provides reference for clinical treatment and follow-up. Conclusion: Ultrasonography has some clinical value in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory disease. The sonographic manifestations of pelvic inflammatory disease are mainly as follows: (1) non-specific changes (21 cases in this paper); (2) cystic changes (108 cases in this paper); (3) cystic solid changes (89 cases in this paper); (4) solid predominant changes (6 cases in this paper). The sonograms of pelvic inflammatory masses, despite their variability, have certain patterns to follow. Although ultrasonography has some leakage and misdiagnosis in the diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory masses, it can still confirm the diagnosis in most cases on the basis of understanding the patient’s medical history, and can also determine the type and severity of pelvic inflammatory masses, so it has some clinical application value. Interventional ultrasound treatment of pelvic peritoneal cysts is an effective technical method worth promoting.
