When is the right time to take roundworm medicine

The most common clinical treatment for roundworms is albendazole, which is generally recommended to be taken on an empty stomach for better results. Albendazole is the most commonly used clinical anthelmintic, a broad-spectrum anthelmintic against nematodes, effective not only against roundworms but also against hookworms, whipworms, pinworms and other parasites. It is generally recommended to be taken orally on an empty stomach, best before bedtime. Because when the drug is taken on an empty stomach, it can be absorbed by the worm body to the maximum extent and increase the anti-helminthic effect; if it is taken orally after eating, it will be affected by the digestion and absorption of food, which will reduce the absorption efficiency of the drug by the parasites and thus reduce the effect of killing worms. Under normal circumstances, a single dose can play a very good role in killing worms. In addition, the drug must be taken after the diagnosis of parasitic infection and under the guidance of a doctor.
