The fourth World Kidney Day is approaching, and the theme of this year’s Day is “Stabilize Blood Pressure, Keep Your Kidneys Healthy”. Hypertension has become a prominent health problem worldwide, with approximately 1 billion people suffering from hypertension worldwide and 1.56 billion expected to be living with hypertension by 2025. Chronic kidney disease is equally prevalent, with approximately 400-600 million people worldwide currently living with chronic kidney disease. Chronic kidney disease can progress to uremia, cardiovascular disease, stroke and other serious diseases, while chronic kidney disease is as preventable and treatable as hypertension. First, hypertension and chronic kidney disease hypertension and chronic kidney disease are inextricably linked On the one hand, hypertension is an independent risk factor for chronic kidney disease, that is, hypertension can directly lead to chronic kidney disease; on the other hand, with the deterioration of kidney function, the chance of hypertension is increasing. In other words, hypertension and chronic kidney disease will enter a vicious circle of mutual influence when they develop to a certain level. For this reason, blood pressure reduction has become the most important measure in the treatment of chronic kidney disease. First, stable blood pressure can delay the deterioration of chronic kidney disease, thus reducing the incidence of uremia. Secondly, stabilizing blood pressure can reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease, about 60% of patients with chronic kidney disease eventually die from complications of cardiovascular disease, that is, stabilizing blood pressure can reduce the mortality rate of patients with chronic kidney disease! Third, how to stabilize blood pressure First, a reasonable lifestyle, moderate exercise, dieting, weight loss, quitting smoking and alcohol can help lower blood pressure.
