Sebaceous nevi in children may grow. Sebaceous nevus, which often occurs on the head, face, or neck, is a kind of misshapen tumor formed by abnormal development of sebaceous glands and other tissues. If the treatment is not complete, there is a risk of recurrence as well as cancerous transformation, and although it is a benign proliferative disease of the skin, the proportion of sebaceous nevus will gradually increase as the child grows up. Especially after the child enters puberty, the sebaceous gland secretion increases due to the change of hormone level in the body, and the nevus of sebaceous gland will become bigger obviously. If a child’s nevus of sebaceous glands develops slowly, it can be closely observed for the time being, and localized surgery can be performed when the child is older. If the nevus develops quickly, local anesthesia should be used as soon as possible.
