Reasons for Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the eighth tooth that erupts after the age of 16 or has not yet erupted. Due to the small size of the jawbone during the evolutionary process, there is often not enough jawbone space for wisdom teeth to erupt, resulting in abnormal position and orientation of wisdom teeth after eruption. Wisdom teeth not only have no chewing function, but also have a series of hazards or potential hazards, so it is the best policy to remove them as soon as possible. Due to incomplete eruption, the gum on its posterior side covers part of its crown to form a pericoronal pocket, which accumulates food and bacteria and can cause frequent inflammation of local soft tissues and pain, and even lead to restricted opening and difficulty in eating. Some people are reluctant to remove it after the inflammation, no more pain, and the ability to eat, resulting in inflammation again and more serious symptoms. Most of the wisdom teeth are anteriorly inclined and obstructed, that is, they are at an angle of about 45 degrees on the second molar, and the two crowns form an angle and embed food, and after a long time, the second molar forms caries until pulpitis and severe pain. Another consequence is that the anteriorly inclined wisdom teeth keep exerting force on the second molar, causing periodontitis and painful loosening, and the second molar has to be extracted, or the two teeth have to be extracted, and the chewing function is seriously damaged. Although the eruption direction of some wisdom teeth is more or less normal, the contact point with the second molar is not normal, so as to embed food, and it is not easy to brush the gap between teeth when brushing, and it is very easy to cause the second molar caries and shorten its service life. Nowadays, many people think that as long as the tooth does not hurt, there is no need to treat or extract it, but this view is incorrect. Because if it hurts, it shows that it has already caused irreversible damage to the normal teeth and even the organism, at this time it is difficult to pull out again to recover the loss caused by wisdom teeth. According to statistics, 50% of people have wisdom teeth, which erupt one after another around the age of 16. Since the roots of this tooth are not yet fully formed when it first erupts, it is easy to remove it, and it is the best treatment plan to remove it as early as possible to avoid causing damage to the second molar and the body. This is the reason why the ancient people say: do not treat the disease to cure the disease. Many people are aware of the danger of wisdom teeth and the reason why they must be removed, but they are reluctant to consult the doctor for this tooth because they are afraid of pain. In fact, as long as local anesthesia is used, complete tooth extraction is almost painless, which is the experience of many tooth extractors. Therefore, it is unnecessary to worry about tooth extraction pain, and recurrent pain will occur if the tooth is not extracted.
