How to treat filiform warts on inner thighs

Filiform warts on the inner thighs can be treated with topical medications, freezing and laser.
1. Topical medication: 5-fluorouracil ointment can be used externally, but it may leave behind hyperpigmentation and local irritation. 3% phthalidomide cream or 3% phthalidomide dimethylsulfoxide solution can also be used to treat the warts with topical application.
2. Cryotherapy is a commonly used treatment in which the doctor uses a cotton swab dipped in liquid nitrogen or the cold tip of a liquid nitrogen freezer to apply pressure against the wart damage. Cryotherapy is usually performed every two weeks and requires multiple treatments.
3. The warts are removed by burning the warts with a laser, which causes the tissue to necrose and thus the warts fall off. Laser treatment can be removed in a single session and requires anesthesia and trauma. External antibiotics are required to prevent infection after the laser procedure.
It is recommended that the patient go to the hospital, under the guidance of the doctor to standardize the treatment. Drugs need to be used in accordance with the doctor’s instructions, do not self-medication.
