The sequelae of facial palsy are the symptoms of facial nerve paralysis and crookedness of the corners of the mouth already 3 months after the occurrence of facial palsy. There are two aspects of treatment: 1. Non-surgical treatment: In principle, the main purpose is to promote the early subsidence of local inflammation and edema, and to promote the recovery of facial nerve function. For peripheral facial nerve palsy caused by facial neuritis, such as viral infection, antiviral, nerve-nourishing drugs, glucocorticoids and B vitamins can be used, and these will have better efficacy in the early stage. To protect the exposed cornea and prevent conjunctivitis, eye medications, eye drops and eye ointments can be used to prevent keratitis and conjunctivitis. Traditional Chinese massage, patients can perform massage of facial palsy muscles at home by themselves after a simple massage in a medical institution, several times a day for 5-10 minutes each time. There are also some Western physical therapies, commonly used are ultrashort wave, infrared, laser, low and medium frequency electrical therapy, laser and drug introduction, Western-style manipulation, and some acupuncture therapies. Acupuncture, needle insertion and moxibustion training for specific acupuncture points; 2. Surgical treatment: after three months of conservative treatment of facial nerve palsy, if there is no recovery, facial nerve conduction velocity and facial nerve electromyography need to be performed, and if all are unresponsive, that is, when there is no potential activity, surgical treatment can be used.
