What are the symptoms associated with a rapid heart rate?

During an episode of tachycardia, the patient may experience sudden onset of panic, shortness of breath, chest tightness, chest pain, fainting or sudden death. Hypotension may be associated with a heartbeat of more than 150 beats per minute. If the patient has a combination of organic heart disease, this may trigger an aggravation of the existing heart condition and prompt medical attention is required.
