How long does it take to get a fetal heartbeat?

The fetal heart can usually be heard under ultrasound in the 7th week of pregnancy and can be listened to with a fetal heart monitor at around 12 weeks of pregnancy, depending on the individual. Normally, the intrauterine gestational sac can be seen by ultrasound at 5 weeks of pregnancy, the yolk sac can be seen at 6 weeks of pregnancy, and the primitive heart tube pulsation can be seen at around 7 weeks of pregnancy. If there is no fetal heartbeat and no fetal bud at 7 weeks of pregnancy, it is possible that ovulation is delayed, resulting in late implantation of the fertilized egg, and it is recommended to repeat the ultrasound after 1 week of observation. If there is no fetal heartbeat at 7 weeks of pregnancy and the fetal bud is greater than 2mm, the possibility of embryonic abortion needs to be considered. The normal fetal heart rate is 110-160 beats/min, and the fetal heart rate can reach 170-180 beats/min after fetal movement. A normal fetal heart rate is a prerequisite for normal fetal growth and development, so listening to the fetal heart during pregnancy is a must for every maternity checkup.
