The duration of use of motion sickness medication varies depending on the route of administration. Oral medications are generally taken about 0.5 hours before departure so that the effective concentration of the medication has been reached by the time the patient takes the medication. However, there are slight differences in the specific taking time according to the type of medication, such as motion sickness tablets to be taken 20 minutes before the ride, gastric reassurance tablets to be swallowed 15-30min before the ride or half an hour before the meal, vertigo stop tablets and halo haining to be taken half an hour before the ride; topical medications mainly include scopolamine patch, which is recommended to be put on the skin behind the ear the night before departure, or 5-6 hours before departure and removed after getting off the bus. In addition, motion sickness medication should be used in strict accordance with the instructions and should not be taken again during the duration of the medication; if the trip is long, the medication can be taken once more in the middle. Patients are advised to avoid taking oral motion sickness medication after meals, and not to drive, operate machinery or perform high school work after taking the medication to avoid causing danger.
