How long can you live with middle ear cancer?

The survival time of middle ear cancer patients is mainly based on the condition of the lesion, its stage and the patient’s own physical condition, which needs to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. Middle ear cancer is an uncommon ear tumor disease, and most of the tumors originating from the middle ear are malignant. 70% of middle ear cancer patients suffer from middle ear inflammation, so some sources believe that most middle ear cancers are related to inflammation. Middle ear cancer can be roughly divided into three stages: 1. if the tumor is confined to the primary site, early detection and surgical excision can achieve a good prognosis with a survival rate of about 60%; 2. if the tumor has spread to a certain extent but not beyond the primary organ, radiation therapy can be adopted and the survival rate is still high; 3. if the cancer cells can be seen to spread to the surrounding area and metastasize to distant places during clinical examination, it is usually If the tumor is in advanced stage, the survival time is 3 months to 1 year with comprehensive treatment. In contrast, middle ear cancer is a disease with poor prognosis, and it is recommended to be diagnosed and treated early so that the survival time can be extended to some extent.
