Different treatments are used for scleral congestion of different etiologies, and it is impossible to say exactly which treatment is best.
If mild scleral congestion occurs, you can first adjust your lifestyle, improve your diet and get enough sleep to see if it heals. If the symptoms do not improve after the adjustment, it is recommended to seek medical treatment promptly. If the scleral inflammation is severe, local glucocorticoids can be used to reduce the inflammatory response of the sclera. In contrast, superficial sclerositis is mostly self-limiting and usually resolves spontaneously within 1-2 weeks, and no special treatment is usually required. Topical drops of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can reduce congestion.
