How soon can you get out of bed and walk around after a cesarean section

  How long it takes to get out of bed after a cesarean section varies from person to person, usually 24-48 hours after removal of the urinary catheter, depending on the woman’s recovery.  Cesarean section is an invasive surgical operation and it takes some time for the mother to recover after the operation. Appropriate physical activity can help the recovery after cesarean section, usually 6 hours after the operation, you can turn over in bed. Usually a catheter is left in place for no more than 24-48 hours after the cesarean section. After the catheter is removed, the woman can get out of bed with the assistance of her family. At the same time, during the process of walking on the floor, once there is discomfort, bed rest should be continued. Generally, the sooner you get out of bed after delivery, the faster you will recover and help prevent the formation of venous thrombosis.  In addition, during the process of getting out of bed, the mother should pay attention to avoid prolonged activity, generally about 15 minutes each time, 1-2 times a day is appropriate, do not overexert.
