Some women experience abdominal pain at the time of ovulation, roughly in the middle of their periods, which is a normal physiological phenomenon and therefore not a cause for concern. The abdominal pain that occurs during ovulation is mainly related to the ovarian follicular fluid entering the abdominal cavity during ovulation and causing irritation to the peritoneum.
