What are the causes of sweaty hands and feet?

Sweaty hands and feet can be caused by a variety of factors, usually twofold: illness and dysfunction. Common diseases include hyperhidrosis, diabetes, hypoglycaemia, hyperthyroidism and febrile disorders. Functional disorders, on the other hand, are caused by abnormal excitation of the sympathetic nervous system and are often associated with psychogenic factors such as stress, anxiety, emotional excitement, panic, etc. Also, in pregnancy, sweaty hands and feet can occur.
