“Lock-hole surgery” to end trigeminal neuralgia

It is common for people to have bad teeth when they are old, but if the “toothache” is caused by trigeminal neuralgia, don’t expect to get better immediately after taking painkillers, if necessary, surgery is still the most effective means. Ms. Zhang, who has been struggling with trigeminal neuralgia for nearly 5 years, was finally relieved of her pain through a “lock-hole surgery” and is enjoying a peaceful old age again. Trigeminal neuralgia is the most common cranial nerve disease, and modern medicine has clarified that the main cause of trigeminal neuralgia is the neurological hyperfunction syndrome caused by microvascular compression to the physiological weak zone of the trigeminal nerve root, which is manifested by the recurrent severe pain of pins and needles and burning in the distribution area of the trigeminal nerve. Some patients have “trigger points”, which can cause painful episodes by slight touching. The trigger points are mostly located at the affected side of the mouth and nose, and patients often refuse to talk, wash their faces, eat, brush their teeth, etc. because of fear of pain. ”By pushing the responsible blood vessels away from the physiologically weak area, the nerve is released from compression, thus curing the disease.
