Isolated pulmonary nodules are usually not uncomfortable, especially in the micro and small nodule stages, and patients may be asymptomatic.
Malignant nodules may grow to a certain extent after invading surrounding blood vessels, nerves and other tissues, causing patients to experience haemoptysis, irritating cough or chest pain, and may also show weight loss or even malnutrition leading to cachexia.
