Scleroderma of the scalp, mainly refers to the unusual type of psoriasis appearing on the scalp area, which can be dealt with by local treatment, systemic treatment, biological agents and physical therapy. 1. Local treatment: it is applicable to most of the psoriasis patients and is also the preferred treatment method. (1) Glucocorticosteroids: moderate or strong glucocorticosteroids can be chosen for the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris, such as tretinoin ointment, beclomethasone propionate cream, etc. However, long-term use should be avoided, so as not to lead to skin atrophy, purpura, hirsutism and other adverse reactions. (2) Vitamin D3 derivatives: such as common capotriol, tacalcitol, etc., and glucocorticoids used in combination as well as alternately, can increase the efficacy of treatment and reduce adverse reactions. (3) Keratin-enhancing agents: such as commonly used camptothecin ointment, salicylic acid ointment, etc., which can promote the exfoliation of the stratum corneum and alleviate the symptoms. (2) Systemic therapy: commonly used drugs include methotrexate, cyclosporine and other immunosuppressant drugs, which can improve the immunity of the patient’s body and promote the improvement of the condition; for psoriasis aggravated by streptococcus infection in the upper respiratory tract, penicillin and azithromycin can also be used for treatment. 3. Biological agents: Biological agents that have been approved for psoriasis treatment mainly include stavudine, adalimumab and so on. 4. Physical therapy: such as common phototherapy, narrow-spectrum UVB phototherapy and 308nm excimer laser can be used to treat psoriasis.
