Presentation and treatment Chronic recurrent parotitis, often in children, with recurrent swelling of the parotid gland with discomfort, mild edema, and red skin. Squeezing the gland reveals pus or jelly-like fluid overflowing from the duct opening. Most of them last about a week. Treatment: It can heal on its own. The principle is to strengthen resistance, prevent secondary infection and reduce seizures. It is recommended to drink more water, massage the glands to discharge saliva, rinse and brush teeth to maintain oral hygiene. Acute inflammation can be applied antibiotics.
