The medical name for dressing change is dressing change, the purpose is to keep the wound clean, check the growth of the wound, there is no sign of septicemia. If there is no infection, then only the wound and the surrounding area should be cleaned and disinfected before changing the dressing. On the contrary, if the dressing is changed every day, not only can it not promote wound healing, but it is very easy to stimulate the wound due to tearing and pulling when uncovering the gauze. Continuous stimulation of the wound, but make it less likely to heal. For ordinary infected wounds, not much secretion, granulation epithelial growth is better, to interval 1 day ~ 2 days to change the dressing once appropriate; secretion more wounds, should be changed every day or every other day; pus or exudate more wounds, should be changed once a day ~ 2 times; larger and deeper wounds, fill the wet gauze strips must be changed once a day ~ 2 times, if necessary, replace the wet outer dressing, do not have to do each time the wounds within the drug change For surgical incisions, i.e. sterile wounds closed in one phase, if the patient does not respond, the dressing can be changed when the stitches are removed. In addition, in the presence of unexplained fever, pain, bleeding, suspicion of anaerobic bacterial infection, or dressing dislodgement, dirty dressing, and increased pus, odor, etc., should be promptly changed. However, whether it is a fresh wound or an infected wound, do not apply anti-inflammatory powder and drugs with color (such as nail violet) in the wound when changing the dressing, so as not to affect the observation of the wound.
