An auricular fistula can be located in many parts of the auricle and includes many conditions, some of which are complex, but one of the most common conditions is an anterior auricular fistula, the location of which is usually at the foot of the auricle, the outermost ring of structures in the auricle often referred to as the auricle and the continuation of the auricle anteriorly referred to as the foot of the auricle, where there is usually a fistula of about 1 mm with a unilateral opening and a blind end on the other side, usually terminating at the cartilage at the foot of the ear root. There are also fistulas that open into the ear canal, behind the earlobe, or into the neck, or even into the hypopharyngeal cavity, all of which occur. Fistulas are very complex and require some relevant CT, MRI, and ultrasound to clarify this complex condition.
