If the Achilles tendon rupture is not treated early and appropriately, it often leads to contracture of the Achilles tendon and thus cannot be repaired early, which can affect walking in serious cases. Therefore, once an Achilles tendon rupture is suspected, it is important to have an early MRI and ultrasound examination and to go to a regular hospital for consultation and treatment. Achilles tendon rupture is commonly seen in athletes or patients who perform physical work, but can also be seen in sharp force injuries such as knife cuts. The Achilles tendon rupture is often followed by a popping sound, followed by pain in the injured area and ankle immobility. Ultrasound and MRI tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis and to provide early braking or surgical treatment. Early suturing is often required to restore the integrity of the Achilles tendon and restore foot function after a rupture.
